The National Treasury Management Agency said today it sold €1.25 billion of 10 and 28-year bonds at an auction at yields of 2.2% to 2.7%.

This was much higher than the last time the NTMA sold the bonds and today marked its first sale since the European Central Bank began increasing interest rates.

The last time it issued a bond maturing in 2032 in May, it did it at 1.5%.

While the last 2050 bond that was issued in October had a rate of 0.885%.

The National Treasury Management Agency has raised €7 billion on the bond market so far this year.

It had planned to raise €10 billion to €14 billion in 2022 but cancelled an auction in June after the state's borrowing needs fell due to the economy's strong fiscal performance.
