The National Treasury Management Agency has today completed an auction of Irish Treasury Bills, selling the target amount of €1 billion.

The NTMA said that total bids for the bills amounted to €2.03 billion which was twice the amount on offer.

The Treasury Bills, which have a maturity of three months, were sold at a yield of 0.05%.

For 2022, the NTMA plans to issue €10-14 billion on the bond market.

This is down from the €8.5 billion raised in 2021 as the Government expects to spend far less battling the Covid-19 pandemic.
