Ireland became a member of the African Development Bank - which focuses on improving living conditions for Africans while also helping the continent's economic growth - in May.

Last year the value of trade in goods and services between Ireland and Africa hit €6.4 billion, with aims to grow that in the coming years.

The seventh African Ireland Economic Forum was held in Dublin yesterday as part of building on that relationship.

Topics at the forum included regional trade, green growth in the agriculture, food and energy sectors, women's economic empowerment, and how technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship are being leveraged for Africa's growth.
