The Commission for Regulation of Utilities is creating 73 jobs to support the delivery of the country's broadened climate action objectives.

The CRU said that applications are now being invited for the management and graduate posts, with further competitions to be advertised in Autumn 2022.

It is looking for qualified and experienced candidates in economics, engineering, environmental and general sciences, legal, public policy and other relevant fields to join new and existing teams.

The CRU is leading programmes of work in the areas of security of energy supply, the Climate Action Plan 2021 and the Clean Energy Package.

Posts are to be filled in new areas of work that require a broad range of expertise including the development of regulatory frameworks for offshore wind, hydrogen, district heating as well as engaging active customers and communities in energy markets.

Aoife MacEvilly, CRU Chairperson, said the CRU plays a leading role in protecting and empowering consumers, as well as accelerating the deployment of renewable and low carbon solutions for Ireland to deliver on the country's climate targets.

"Joining the CRU at this time represents an exciting and challenging opportunity to make a difference and be at the forefront of policy development and delivery," she added.
