Co Cavan-based renewable energy company Galetech Group is entering the Australian energy market with the launch of Galetech Australia.
The company said it has already secured several Australian clients who want to incorporate renewable energy and ESG considerations into their existing business models.
Galetech Australia will be based in Perth and aims to grow and expand quickly in the country.
The business will initially focus on renewables and ESG services to the mining, oil and gas and agricultural sectors.
Galetech have already been engaged by Australian mining firms and those developing large-scale projects around the country. The company's mining clients include Bellevue Gold, a gold miner who aspire to achieving 100% net zero emissions by 2026.
Another client is Firebird Metals, a manganese mining firm, who is seeking support for its ESG obligations and renewable integration aspirations as a result of its listed company status.
Galetech noted that the recent government change in Australia included a commitment to reduce emissions by 43% by 2030.
Galetech Australia will be headed up by Co Louth native and renewable expert Dermot Costello who has 20 years global and Australian renewable energy experience.
Mr Costello said the Australian market provides excellent opportunity to further the international credentials of Galetech Group.
"Galetech Australia is committed to bringing new and innovative services to the market, while staying true to our experience. Our proven expertise and the company's history, reputation and vast project portfolio has been very well received and has captured the imagination of our Australian clients in understanding what they can achieve," he said.
Galetech currently employs 120 staff and operates in Ireland, Northern Ireland, The Benelux, and South Africa. The group has delivered 495 MW of wind and currently has 615MW in its development pipeline.
