FTSE 100 listed trade kitchen supplier Howdens is to open its first Irish store this week.
Its Sandyford outlet, which is located at the Stillorgan Business Park in Dublin 18, will be the first of six planned outlets here.
More depots are to follow in Ballyfermot, Ballymount, Glasnevin and Swords in Dublin and another in Bray, County Wicklow later this year and early next year.
The Irish outlets will each span close to 10,000 square feet in size.
The company, which sells directly to trade professionals, offers products including kitchens, worktops, appliances, doors, joinery, flooring, and hardware.
"Selling only to the trade means we can ensure that our expertly crafted products are fitted to the highest possible standard, and enable our locally-managed depots to build long-lasting partnerships with trade professionals in the community," Andrew Livingston, CEO of Howdens said.
Founded in 1995, Howdens is one of the UK's leading trade kitchen suppliers.
The Yorkshire-based company has almost 800 depots across Europe, and employs 11,000 people.
After two years of booming sales, mainly on the back of lockdown renovations, Howdens joined the FTSE 100 - the index of Britain's biggest companies - in April of this year.
"What makes our business model so successful is the powerful combination of locally empowered depot management, and a dedicated supply chain that can deliver our Irish customers an always in-stock offer," Mark Campbell, Country Manager of Howdens said.
