Cork based motor group, Kearys, is to buy Renault Retail Group Ireland's showroom in Tallaght in Dublin for an undisclosed fee.
The deal has been notified to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) for consideration.
Renault Retail Group Ireland is owned by the brand’s global parent, Renault Retail Group SA, based in France.
If given CCPC approval, the dealership would be the eleventh belonging to Kearys Motor Group.
It currently owns BMW, Hyundai, Nissan, Renault and Dacia dealerships in Cork and Dublin.
The company also operates three used car "supermarkets" under the Carstore brand in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.
The addition of the Renault Retail Group dealership on Belgard Road in Tallaght would bring to 450 the number of people employed by the business.
CEO Brendan Keary said the family owned business, started by his father Bill 40 years ago, is looking to grow in the Dublin market, despite the challenges facing the industry at the moment with disrupted supply chains and rising costs.
"There is a bit of uncertainty, but demand from customers is incredible," he said.
He added that the aim is to make Kearys a national brand.
Mr Keary also said that the company is seeing a "huge shift to electric" as more customers turn to electrified vehicles to save on running costs and reduce their carbon footprint.
