A new plan, aimed at increasing the number of Irish jobs across the fifty states in the US by 30% by 2030 has been launched.
The 30:50:30 initiative was launched by Ireland INC at its leadership breakfast to mark the 10th annual Ireland Day in New York.
It is being supported by Ibec as well as a US Department of Commerce programme, Select USA, which aims to promote investment in the US.
"It is a recognition that the economic relationship between Ireland and the US is a two-way story," said Ibec CEO, Danny McCoy.
"Our two economies have embraced trade and internationalisation, to the benefit of the citizens of Ireland and the US."
"Now, more than ever, our respective business communities must champion the benefits of retaining our outward focus while ensuring that future growth is sustained and sustainable."
Ireland is currently the ninth largest investor in the US, with almost 800 Irish firms operating there.
Today's meeting was co-chaired by Congressman Richard Neal, Chair of the House and Ways Committee and Ian Hyland, CEO of Ireland INC.
"Despite the unprecedented challenges of the past two years, Irish businesses have not only survived but thrived, expanding their investment footprint across the United States," said Mr Hyland.
"The 30:50:30 initiative is the next step in building on this progress and expanding the presence of Irish companies across all 50 states."
