Aldi has opened a new store in Caherciveen in Co Kerry - its 150th store in Ireland since entering the Irish market in 1999 and its eight in Co Kerry.
The new store represents an investment of over €5m in the local area and will create up to 20 permanent jobs.
50 jobs were also supported during the construction phase of the new store.
Aldi now operates eight stores in Co Kerry and has made a capital investment of €38m in the county since it first opened a store in Rathass in Tralee in 2004. It employs over 140 full-time staff in the county.
The supermarket group also said it spent €15.5m with its Kerry producers in 2021.
Aldi currently partners with seven food and drink producers in Kerry including Prestige Foods, Listowel and National Organic Products.
Aldi now employs over 4,650 people and operates a network of 150 stores across the country, with stores in each county in the Republic of Ireland. It currently stocks over 1,800 products and works with over 330 Irish suppliers
