Aer Rianta International to run duty free in airports across Portugal

Aer Rianta International is to team up with Portuguese airport operator, ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, to run duty free and retail operations in eight airports across Portugal.

The deal covers Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Madeira and Porto Santo in the Madeira Islands and Ponta Delgada, Sta Maria and Horta on the Azores.

The contract includes 34 commercial spaces, including duty free main shops, satellite stores, and fashion and beauty stores, with a total area approximately of 9,500 square metres.

The joint venture will last for seven years.

ANA is part of the VINCI Airports Group which is responsible for operating 53 airports in 12 countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Aer Rianta International owns and manages duty-free and retail outlets in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

Part of Dublin and Cork Airport operators, daa, it employs over 3,000 people worldwide.
