The accreditation of price comparison website, bonkers.ie, has been renewed by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities for the ninth year in a row.

To maintain accreditation, energy price comparison websites in Ireland are tested across a wide range of criteria and must demonstrate that the information they provide to consumers is accurate, impartial and up-to-date, and that all publicly available tariffs offered by licensed energy suppliers are included on their site.

The most recent audit shows that bonkers.ie continues to meet the strict principles of compliance demanded by the CRU.

David Kerr, founder and Group CEO of bonkers.ie said, "At bonkers.ie, the accuracy of the information that we show on our website is paramount. We work hard to maintain our accreditation with the CRU each year and I'm delighted that we've passed once more with flying colours.

"Energy prices have increased rapidly over the past year and we’ve seen record numbers of people coming to our site to seek out better value.

"Those people can feel confident that the information we’re showing them is accurate and impartial and I’m delighted that bonkers.ie is able to play such an important role in helping households in Ireland reduce their cost of living."

The website also helps households switch and save on their mortgage, their home and car insurance, and their broadband.

"At a time of rapidly rising prices across all areas of the economy, switching bills is a relatively quick and pain free way for households to put some money back into their pockets and I’d urge all households to review their bills if they haven’t done so already as a matter of priority," Mr Kerr said.
