Online, ecommerce and digital representative body Digital Business Ireland (DBI) has announced a partnership with global payments provider, Checkout.com.

DBI said the partnership comes at a crucial time, as many businesses look to enhance their online offerings to customers.

The payments provider currently has 19 international offices and processes transactions in more than 150 currencies.

As Digital Business Ireland continues to expand its community of more than 6,000 businesses, it said this latest partnership will help to further stimulate that growth, while providing industry insights to members.

"Our decision to partner with some of the most prominent digital innovators, both on a national and global scale, is what has ultimately enabled Digital Business Ireland to thrive as an organisation," said Lorraine Higgins, Secretary General of Digital Business Ireland.

"Today’s announcement of our partnership with leading payments provider Checkout.com is indicative of our continued desire to work collaboratively with industry leaders, in helping to advance the digital agenda in Ireland," she added.

Jordan McCarthy, Sales Director at Checkout.com Ireland said it is delighted to partner with DBI as part of its expansion into the Irish market.

"As a full-stack online payments processor, our goal is to support businesses to unlock their payments’ potential and expand their online market presence in Ireland and beyond".

"Regardless of industry, from traditional retailers, online food delivery, healthcare, utilities to fintechs, customers expect a frictionless payments experience," he added.
