Growth capital investor BGF has led a €7m investment round in Aubren, a Co Laois-based design and manufacturing business of air solutions for mission critical applications.
Portlaoise-based Aubren employs 82 people in Portlaoise.
Its engineering team works with client companies from across the world to develop air technologies and products which are then manufactured by Aubren in Portlaoise.
The company focuses on the niche market of air solutions which are fundamental to the operation of critical infrastructure and facilities.
Its clients include companies in sectors such as data centres, telecom infrastructure, medical facilities and pharma manufacturing facilities.
The investment round is also supported by Pat Beirne and Paul Lynch who are both investing in their personal capacities.
Pat Beirne is founder and managing director of plastics business Mergon.
Paul Lynch is an experienced senior executive and irector and as the company's CFO led the IPO of Applegreen. He currently serves as non-executive Director of Mincon Group.
Mr Lynch will serve as non-executive Chairperson of the company.
BGF said this marks its fifth equity investment this year, and the 11th since it began operations in Ireland in late 2017.
Other Irish companies in which BGF has invested include air quality monitoring company Ambisence and medical products company Croom Medical.
BGF only takes minority equity positions in businesses with investments typically providing finance to drive growth plans within investee companies.
BGF in Ireland is supported by the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) as well as AIB, Bank of Ireland and Ulster Bank.
