Aldi Ireland has submitted a planning application to Cork County Council for a new 1,315 square metre store in Carrigaline.

The new Carrigaline store is expected to create 30 permanent jobs and will involve an investment of €10m into the local area.

The store will be centrally located on Main Street in Carrigaline, on the site of the old Carrigaline Pottery, which closed in 1979 after more than 50 years in business.

Construction of the proposed store will result in up to 60 jobs being created during the build.

Aldi's 24 stores and distribution centre in Cork are deeply involved with their local communities.

The supermarket group partners with 35 food and drink producers across Cork, spending €68.5m with them in 2020.
