The Central Bank has appointed Patricia Dunne as its new Director of Securities and Markets Supervision.

The appointment will take effect from December 13 this year.

Ms Dunne replaces Colm Kincaid, who was appointed Director of Consumer Protection at the Central Bank in October.

She has more than three decades of regulatory, supervisory and policy expertise in the asset management, investment funds and banking sectors.

Before her appointment as Director, Ms Dunne was Head of Markets Supervision and was responsible for the supervision and surveillance of financial markets, including the development of integrated data analytics and risk analysis supervision

Central Bank Governor Gabriel Makhlouf said that Patricia brings a wealth of securities markets expertise and leadership experience to the role.

"She has first-rate knowledge of the international regulatory landscape and will be to the forefront of our strategic work in using data and analytics to enhance our supervisory effectiveness," he added
