In response to a surge in demand for late night food deliveries, Deliveroo said it will start piloting the expansion of late night delivery at weekends from some late night restaurants in Dublin.

People can now have food delivered to their door by Deliveroo until as late as 4am in some Dublin areas.

The company said it hopes to roll out the late night deliveries around the country in the future.

Deliveroo said that late night ordering has grown on average 140% between this year and last year.

Friday night has seen the biggest growth in late-night food orders for Dublin customers, followed by Saturday in second place and Thursday coming in third.

It said the new late night service will be available from Yeeros, 4Friends Burger, Supermacs, Papa John's and Abrakebabra.

Paddy Quinlan, Regional Manager at Deliveroo, said that people have changed how they order online and not least when it comes to food.

"We are very pleased with the level of growth we are experiencing when it comes to late night snacking in Ireland," he said.

At the moment we are trialling the service in Dublin, but we hope to roll this out across Ireland in the areas in which we operate, if the trend continues," he added.
