Wholesaler Musgrave MarketPlace and Circle K have today announced a new five-year €300m strategic partnership, which will see Musgrave supply the Circle K network of company-owned and franchise service stations.

The partnership continues a 20-year relationship between Musgrave MarketPlace and Circle K, which previously traded as Shell, Esso and Topaz.

Circle K also said it will supply fuel to 14 service stations owned and operated by Musgrave in the Republic of Ireland & Northern Ireland, with these forecourts rebranding to Circle K over time.

This will bringing Circle K's total store count on the island of Ireland to 425.

Under the terms of the deal, Circle K will also supply fuel to the Musgrave MarketPlace fleet of delivery vehicles.

As the wholesale supplier of food and beverages, Musgrave MarketPlace will supply Circle K forecourts nationwide with a variety of product categories including grocery, beverages, catering, chill & frozen food and impulse buys – a total of 2,500 food and beverage products.

It will also supply fresh products such as salads, meats, pastries and sandwich fillings, alongside frozen products.

Musgrave MarketPlace supports over 680 local Irish suppliers, with over 3,500 Irish products in its range.

It said the continued partnership with Circle K will also give a significant boost to local suppliers during these uncertain times, in line with the company's commitment to supporting Irish.

Musgrave MarketPlace's Michael McCormack said that after many successful years working together, the company understand Circle K's business needs.

"As an Irish family-owned business with 145 years of experience, building long-term partnerships is important to us - indeed it's one of our Musgrave values. Being reappointed, after a competitive tender process, is an endorsement of our values and approach to business," Mr McCormack said.

Gordon Lawlor, Managing Director of Circle K, said the company's ongoing partnership with Musgrave MarketPlace enables it to continue delivering a really compelling offering to its customers.

"We have enjoyed a hugely successful long-term partnership with Musgrave MarketPlace over the past 20 years. They have a deep understanding of our business and our commitment to innovation for the benefit of our customers," Mr Lawlor added.
