Irish medical device innovation company i360medical has appointed Jeremy Masding, the former chief executive of Permanent TSB, to its board.

Mr Masding was CEO of the lender from February 2012 to July 2020.

Mr Masding has over 30 years' experience working in the financial sector and held a number of senior roles including at Barclays.

The company's chief executive Derek Young said the appointment underlined i360medical's ambition as it moves into the next phase of its development.

Jeremy Masding said he was looking forward to helping i360medical deliver on its huge potential.

"i360's unique business model has helped it become a global med-tech and innovation leader. Several projects are now moving towards fruition which is very positive both from a patient care perspective and in demonstrating the success of the company’s 7-step ideation process," he said.

Mr Masding's appointment follows on from the recent election of leading US investor and med-tech innovator Bob Mitchell as interim Chair of the Board.

Mr Mitchell succeeds Ray Cantwell who served as chair for four years.
