Packaging leader Smurfit Kappa has launched a new range of circular packaging solutions for the fast growing online health and beauty market.
The new eHealth and Beauty portfolio includes sustainable, paper-based packaging solutions which are ideal for shipping vulnerable products, such as fragrances, cosmetics, and skin and hair care products.
It also includes tamper proof packaging designed for vitamins, supplements and sports nutrition.
Smurfit Kappa said the health and beauty e-commerce market in Europe is one of the largest and fastest growing categories and was valued at €17.6 billion in 2020.
Online buying saw double digit growth both in Eastern Europe (37%) and Western Europe (22%).
The company said this growth presents a significant opportunity for retailers to capitalise on, with the overall eCommerce retail market estimated to be worth €380 billion.
Arco Berkenbosch, Vice President of Innovation and Development at Smurfit Kappa, said the speed to market needs to be combined with a unique consumer experience in the health and beauty segment.
