UK regional airline Blue Islands has announced plans to start a new service from Dublin to Jersey next year.

The new route will start in March 2022 and will operate six times a week until October.

Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands, situated just 14 miles from France. The island boasts a diverse coastline with beaches and cliffs, together with a rich history, unique culture and cuisine.

"I have no doubt that this new route will be popular in both directions. We look forward to working closely with Blue Islands to promote its new service," commented Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison.

Dublin Airport said it will have 39 airlines flying to 145 destinations worldwide as it continues to rebuild its global reach following the devastating impact on the aviation sector because of Covid-19.

Over 2.9 million passengers have travelled through Dublin Airport in the first eight months of this year, representing 87% decrease when compared to pre-Covid levels.
