Life Style Sports is to occupy a new €20m carbon neutral distribution centre which is being developed by IPUT Real Estate at Aerodrome Business Park in west Dublin.
The new distribution centre will open in Spring next year.
Life Style Sports has 44 retail units across the Island of Ireland and fulfils online orders to over 200 countries globally.
It said the new warehouse will be the first fully carbon neutral distribution facility of its kind in the country and features a substantial investment in sustainability credentials, including solar panels, rainwater harvesting and recycling.
It also features a range of other renewable energy elements, including natural and LED lighting, electric car charging and energy usage monitors for Life Style Sports, which employs over 800 people.
The new warehouse will have more than 100 robots for automate picking, with each robot able to pick up to 600 items an hour and will see 500% increase in order packing capacity.
"Obviously the Covid-19 pandemic has been hugely challenging for all retailers but this new distribution centre is the dawn of a new era for the brand, and we're hugely excited for the sustainability and operational capabilities it will give us to grow for both our in-store and e-commerce offering," commented Mark Stafford, Life Style Sports' chief executive.
