The well-known Eyre Square Shopping Centre in central Galway city is up for sale.

The centre, which was developed by McInerneys 30 years ago, carries a guide price of €12.76m.

70 retail units and kiosks as well as 450 car parking spaces make up the premises which is located on Eyre Square in Galway city centre.

Each week around 270,000 people visit the centre which is anchored by Penneys and Dunnes Stores.

The building forms part of a combined shopping centre with both Corbett Court and Edward Square Shopping Centre.

As a result, it has access not only from Eyre Square, but also Williamsgate Street and Castle Street.

The building is currently owned by Marathon who invested significantly in it through a refurbishment and a new entrance from Eyre Square.

The sale, which is being handled by Colliers, is made up of eight retail units, used by well-known brands such as JD Sports, Great Outdoors, Specsavers, Diesel, Starbucks and Vero Moda.

Control of the centre and freehold common area units, comprising a number of short and long term rolling licence agreements to include various kiosks, store rooms, telecoms masts and general mall income, are also included in the sale.
