Aldi is today opening a new store in Douglas in Co Cork as it continues its nationwide expansion.

The new Douglas store will see the creation of 27 permanent jobs.

Located on the old cinema site on the Douglas Road, the new store will be Aldi's 24th store to open in County Cork.

Aldi now operates 146 supermarkets across the country, in addition to its Mitchelstown distribution centre, which services Aldi's stores in Munster and Connacht.
