Ryanair is to start a new service from Shannon Airport to Turin in Northern Italy for the winter skiing season.
The new service will run weekly on Saturdays from December 18 this year to March 26, 2022.
This is the first Turin service to operate from Shannon Airport since 2009.
Mary Considine, CEO of Shannon Group, that while aviation sector has a long journey ahead, it is great at last to see some green shoots of recovery.
"This is another step in slowly rebuilding our air services and brings to nine the number of Ryanair services announced for Shannon to-date," Mary Considine said.
"As the vaccine roll-out programme increases and we look forward to the lifting of the non-essential travel ban on July 19 with the introduction of the EU Digital Covid Certificate, people can again begin to plan for much-deserved holiday breaks," she added.
Eight Ryanair services resumed at Shannon Airport last week, including flights to Barcelona-Reus, Stansted, Gatwick, Kaunas, Krakow, Wroclaw, Warsaw-Modlin and Manchester.
Last month, Aer Lingus said it would permanently close its cabin crew base in Shannon in an effort to reduce costs.
