Paul Hackett, Managing Director of online travel agent Click&Go, has been appointed President of the Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA).
Mr Hackett has worked in the travel sector for over 30 years and has served as an ITAA board member since 2017.
"I am honoured to have been elected as the President of the ITAA, as the organisation does great work in representing Irish travel agents, bringing issues to the public consciousness and inciting positive change," Mr Hackett said at the ITAA AGM today.
Mr Hacket said as a trade representative body he believes the ITAA needs to both retain and attract new members.
"We need to reach out to the entire industry, and we need to continue to be seen as the representative voice for travel.
With international travel set to resume in the coming months, Mr Hackett said that many challenges lie ahead for travel agents.
"We must be relevant and support the members and we should focus on sharing best practice," he said.
