Irish digital health company, HealthBeacon plans to triple its workforce over the next two years, following a new multi-million dollar partnership with US and Canadian retail giant Hamilton Beach Brands.
HealthBeacon said it will add 100 new jobs both here and in the US, bringing total employee numbers to 150.
It said the strategic partnership will secure the roll-out of the HealthBeacon smart Injection Care Management System throughout the US and Canada in the final quarter of this year, under the new brand name Hamilton Beach Health.
The system allows patients to self-administer injectable medication in their homes through their FDA cleared ‘Smart Sharps Bin’ technology.
HealthBeacon CEO and Co-Founder, Jim Joyce said they are delighted to partner with Hamilton Beach.
"Our strategic partnership will enable the HealthBeacon innovative adherence system to be accessible to millions of patients in the US and Canada that rely on taking critical medications by injections at home.
"By leveraging the Hamilton Beach brand and the company's supply chain capabilities, we will be well-positioned to accelerate our plans to supply and support these large consumer markets, providing the immediate access of our advanced medication management system directly to patients in the US and Canada," he said.
Hamilton Beach markets and distributes a number of electric household appliances and kitchenware items.
President and CEO, Greg Trepp said they are looking forward to expanding their focus on the home health and wellness market.
"Our goal is to build upon the success of this system that has been established in several global markets.
"We look forward to making it easier for patients in the US and Canada to manage their injectable medications, stay on track with their treatment schedule and safely manage the disposal of their used sharp," he said.
