CarTrawler, an Irish provider of car rental technology has announced a partnership with Uber.

The partnership will see CarTrawler run Uber's car rental technology, which is being rolled out across the US.

The service is already active in the UK, France, Australia and New Zealand, and allows users to browse and select rental cars.

CarTrawler said the technology facilitates renting a car through an easy and accessible offering directly in the Uber app.

Aileen McCormack, Chief Commercial Officer of CarTrawler said the partnership will bring car rental services to its widest audience yet.

"As we see more positive signs of recovery globally and cities opening up, CarTrawler and Uber will set the world in motion by getting people moving again," she said.

CarTrawler works with a number of other travel brands, including Hopper, American Express, easyJet, Emirates, SWISS, KLM and TUI Group.
