From today, Virgin Media has said it will give all Virgin Mobile customers access to unlimited data.

The company said all customers who have a data limit on their plan will now be switched to unlimited and all those on unlimited plans will have the 80GB fair usage policy removed.

Data shows that Virgin Mobile customers used their smartphone plans more than ever last year due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Compared to 2019, mobile data usage on the network increased by 47%.

Paul Higgins, Vice President of Commercial at Virgin Media said they hope the announcement today will help those who now rely on their phones to stay connected.

"The removal of the data limits and fair usage policy from our mobile plans means you don't have to worry about using up all your data on video calls, streaming apps or web browsing while we all do our best to stay at home," he said
