Bord Gáis Energy has said its disconnection moratorium will remain in place for the duration of the current Level 5 restrictions.

This means that no business or residential customer will be disconnected for non-payment at this time.
Managing Director of Bord Gáis Energy, Dave Kirwan said the supplier has encouraged anyone concerned about paying for their energy to engage them since the start of this pandemic.

He said the company is committed to being as flexible as possible and working with its customers to find payment solutions.

"We introduced this disconnection moratorium during the last Level 5 restrictions and hope that today's announcement will offer help to those that need it most. As always, we would also encourage anyone in difficulty to contact us; we can help set up sustainable payment plans that will ease the worry at this time and avoid undue debt build-up on their accounts"

Proactive residential and commercial door-to-door sales have ceased and those customers with meters are being advised that to ensure their bills are as accurate as possible they should submit meter readings either online or via the call centre.

Bord Gáis Energy said it is committed to leaving no one in the cold. All service and repair work will be continued and if customers have concerns about their boiler they should get in touch.
