Eir said today that its 5G network is now available to more than 53% of the population of the country.
Its 5G network has now reached 204 towns and cities across the country including Longford town, Bundoran, Knock airport, Tullow, Bray, Celbridge, Boyle, Carrick-on-Shannon, Gorey, Shannon, Rush, Birr, Callan, Fermoy and Castlebar.
A new 5G service was also today switched on in Croke Park in Dublin.
"Eir is delighted to be the first operator to surpass 53% of the population of the country with 5G and to be the first to bring 5G to life in Croke Park," the company's chief executive Carolan Lennon said.
Eir's 5G network is complemented with its 4G coverage across 99% of the population of Ireland.
