Irish lock and handle maker Basta has been sold to Laydex Building Solutions.
The sale was confirmed by the current owner of the business, Ardale.
No details of how much was paid were disclosed, but Ardale said the transaction was for a "multiple of its initial investment".
"This sale is a great success story for Ardale and the brand. It provides Laydex with a quality brand to add to its range of products," said Emma Maye, managing director of Ardale.
"It also represents a strong return on our investment in the brand. We will continue to stock the products in our own retail outlets and wish Laydex every success with this great brand,"
Ardale bought Basta in December of 2018 from the liquidator of the previous company.
It has subsequently invested in developing the product range and marketing them here in Ireland and across the UK.
"Basta continues to have a great reputation and brand recognition in the hardware and construction sectors," said Ms Maye.
