Golden Discs is to open a new store in Dublin's Swords Pavilions Shopping Centre tomorrow.

The Irish retailer will employ twelve new staff members, which will take the total number of employees to over 165 across the group, with another 50 seasonal staff to join the company for the Christmas period.

Golden Discs has opened four new stores in the last year, including a flagship store in Jervis Street.

The new Swords branch takes the company to 22 stores in total across the length and breadth of the country.

Despite the challenges of 2020, Golden Discs' chief executive Stephen Fitzgerald said they are delighted to open the new store ahead of the busy Christmas period.

"We’ve had lots of time to perfect the offering with a particular emphasis on Vinyl and turntables.

The resurgence of the format over the last few years has been simply extraordinary.

Whether its older fans dusting off the old collection from the attic, or younger fans listening to music for the first time how it’s supposed to be enjoyed, we have something for everyone in-store this Christmas," he said.
