Discount retail chain Dealz is to open three new stores here in time for Christmas, creating over 100 jobs.
In total the company is aiming to open 10 outlets over the next 12 months.
The new shops, which will be in Athenry, Limerick Crescent Shopping Centre and the Belgard Retail Park in Tallaght, will employ 120 people.
They will all offer PEP&CO clothing as well as homeware.
It is a challenging time to be opening new retail outlets, as the country remains in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and Level 5 restrictions, which limit the opening of non-essential retail.
"We are delighted to be opening three new stores in the lead up to Christmas as we continue to expand our Irish portfolio, further committing to the Irish economy," said Olivia McLoughlin, Country Operations Manager for Dealz Ireland.
"We're a community retailer and at a time when more people are shopping local, we’re proud of the amazing value we bring on the essentials and more they need.
Dealz is planning to invest €3.5m over the next year by opening 10 new outlets.
It has had stores here since 2011 and its network now consists of more than 70 shops.
Most products are €1.50, replicating the straightforward Poundland model in the UK.
Dealz also has stores in Spain and Poland.
Both Dealz and Poundland are part of the Pepco Group which has 2,500 shops across Europe.
