Dublin and London-listed venture capital firm Draper Esprit has said its Net Asset Value for the six months to the end of September is expected to be not less than 595 pence.

This compares to a NAV of 574 pence the same time last year.

The technology focused venture capitalist firm also said its gross portfolio value - even after significant realisations - is expected to be not less than £695m, compared to £683m the same time in 2019.

Draper Esprit said its investments in the six months since the end of March amounted to £32m and included new investments in Cazoo and Ravelin, as well as follow on investments to Aircall, Lyst, Form3 and PushDoctor.

The company also said it has "significant firepower" to take advantage of the current opportunity-rich environment and increase its "investment cadence".

Martin Davis, the company's CEO, said it was positive to see, especially in highly uncertain times, that Draper's portfolio of fast-growing European technology companies allows it to deliver for its shareholders.

"We continue to build the infrastructure to scale the group and leverage our co-investment model, which will enable us to take advantage of the opportunities we see in our existing portfolio and in the European market as a whole," Mr Davis said.

"The ongoing pandemic is only serving to accelerate the transition to digital and creating new opportunities for new entrants across many end markets. Our recent fundraise and potential for raising a growth fund will further support our vision of backing entrepreneurs to invent the future," the CEO added.

Draper has focused its investments on tech firms, backing companies like Revolut, N26 and Trustpilot.

It has also backed a number of Irish firms, including Currency Fair and Roomex.
