Aldi has today opened a new shop in Rathnew in Co Wicklow as it continues its nationwide expansion.
Located at Village Centre in Rathnew, the new outlet will be Aldi's fifth store to open in Co Wicklow and the company said it has made a capital investment of over €26m in the county to date.
Aldi now operates 144 stores across the country.
The new Rathnew store, which will create 15 new jobs, is powered by 100% green electricity.
Aldi said it has invested heavily in improving its energy management systems and its entire store network is now powered by 100% wind generated energy.
Aldi said it will sell over €850m worth of Irish goods this year, sourced from producers, manufacturers and suppliers across the country.
