The Vintners Federation of Ireland has said the increase in shebeens is widespread and the group is calling on the Gardaí to take further action.
Padraig Cribben, VFI Chief Executive told News at One, that these shebeens are in "every nook and cranny" in the country and said the situation is out of control.
His comments follow the closure by Gardaí yesterday of three suspected Shebeens in Laois, Meath and Westmeath.
He said some of these venues are advertising on Facebook that they have pool tournaments and Sky Sports, yet Mr Cribben said from photos has seen, there is no social distancing and no sanitisation taking place.
He described them as "glorified house parties" and added that the only difference is that they charge for alcohol.
