The self-employed, companies and business groups will all be trying to work out the implications of Budget 2021 for weeks - and possibly even months - to come.

But what was their immediate reaction to the measures announced by Ministers Paschal Donohoe and Michael McGrath?

To find out RTÉ News spoke to representatives of a number of business organisations representing key areas of the economy.

These included

- Lorraine Higgins, CEO of Digital Business Ireland, which is working to help more Irish businesses trade online.

- Simon McKeever, CEO of the Irish Exporters Association, which represents the many firms that sell abroad.

- Mark Redmond, CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland, which represents the hundreds of US multinationals that have operations in the country

- Sarah-Jane Larkin, director general of the Irish Venture Capital Association and member of the Alliance for an Innovation-Driven Recovery, which represents indigenous investors and start-ups.

Each were asked to give their immediate reaction to what they heard yesterday - and rate the budget measures on a scale of one to ten.
