Bank of Ireland said today that Sean Crowe, chief executive of the Markets and Treasury Division at the bank, will step down from his role at the end of this year.
Sean Crowe joined Bank of Ireland in 1993 as a financial markets trader.
Since then he served in a number of senior executive roles in the markets and asset management areas before joining the Group Executive Committee as Group Treasurer in 2014. He became CEO of the Markets and Treasury Division in 2018
Bank of Ireland's group chief executive, Francesca McDonagh, said that Mr Crowe has made an exceptional contribution to the Bank of Ireland Group for more than 25 years.
Ms McDonagh said this includes his role as Group Treasurer during some of the most challenging times in the bank's history.
"In recent years, Sean has been centrally involved in the group's transformation, developing a leading markets operation to meet the fast-evolving needs of our customers, and exemplary treasury team to safeguard the group," the CEO added.
Ms McDonagh said that Bank Ireland is taking this opportunity to review how Markets and Treasury is structured.
"Over the coming period, Treasury will move to report to Myles O'Grady, Chief Financial Officer, and Markets will move to report to Tom Hayes, CEO of Corporate Banking. Sean will be with the bank until the end of the year and will work with Tom and Myles to ensure a smooth transition," she added.
