The team behind the former Mothercare Ireland franchise here has launched a new online store, Kaliedy.com, selling baby and toddler goods.
In June Mothercare Ireland said it was closing its 14 branches here and laying off all its staff, after it was placed into liquidation because of the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
It had been started in 1998 by businessman David Ward, after he secured the franchise for this country and his children had taken over the running of the firm in recent years prior to its closure.
Now siblings Laura, Ben and Johnny Ward, have established the new web-based shop, along with other members of the former Mothercare Ireland head office team, including those who were responsible for buying, customer service and design.
The new company says it will offer Ireland's largest range of feeding products, as well as baby essentials, nursery items and toys.
It will also be the exclusive stockist of the Early Learning Centre toys in Ireland and sell its own brand of products, including travel accessories.
The website will also offer information and support to parents and parents-to-be, through a regular blog and advice column with paediatric nurse Lynda Quigley.
The new site will feature leading international brands such as Maxi Cosi, Chico and Silver Cross as well as Irish ones too.
