Fresh produce provider Total Produce has said that trading for the six months to the end of June has been "satisfactory".

In a trading update, Total Produce said that sales have been resilient despite the impact of Covid-19 and are now expected to be broadly in line with the first half of 2019.

"The group's strong presence in the global fresh produce industry, the diversity of its operations and products together with the exceptional response from our people have enabled us to meet the challenges," the company said.

Total Produce said it expects "satisfactory results" for 2020 - subject to the uncertainties arising from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

"Total Produce is in a strong financial position and continues to focus on the growth and expansion of the business," the company added in today's brief trading update.
