Irish Swiss baked goods group Aryzta has warned that the outbreak of Covid-19 will have a material impact on its group performance this year.
The company owns the Cuisine de France brand and also makes burger buns for McDonalds, which shut all of its Irish and UK outlets yesterday evening due to the virus outbreak.
It said its third quarter trading patterns had been in line with its guidance up to March 15, but since then market conditions and prospects have deteriorated.
But Aryzta said it has full business continuity plans in place and active where necessary to maintain service levels and to meet customers' expectations.
"Aryzta's board and management, together with all of its employees, are committed to playing our part as an essential industry providing food at this difficult time," the company said.
"Actions are progressing to implement flexible working policies and, where necessary, to adjust available capacity to the rapidly changing demand of the different channels," it added.
