Recruitment company Indeed has asked its global workforce - including 1,000 staff in Dublin - to work from home until further notice.
The move relates to the company's concerns about the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Indeed has also halted all business travel and cancelled events planned for the coming weeks.
In a statement on its website, the firm said it recognised that the decision may be inconvenient for some, but it had done so to protect the health and safety of its employees.
It said it wanted to minimise the risk to workers, their family and friends; and reduce the possible of the virus spreading.
Indeed said none of its employees had so far tested positive for the virus, but it had chosen to act out of "an abundance of caution".
Last month Indeed asked its Irish employees to temporarily work from home over concerns that a staff member in Singapore may have been exposed to the coronavirus.
Staff were initially asked to avoid the office for one week, but were then allowed to return a day later after the worker in question tested negative for the virus.
