Uniphar says it achieved gross organic profit growth of 7% last year, in line with its expectations.

In a full year trading update the Dublin-headquartered healthcare services firm said it enjoyed growth across its three divisions as it focused more on higher value services for specialised clients.

For the year ahead Uniphar said it was "well positioned" to continue this growth, with bolt-on acquisition also likely to help its bottom line.

Uniphar offers a number of services to pharmaceutical firms including the sourcing and supplying of medicines as well as sales, marking and distribution.

The company is also a major wholesale provider in Ireland and owns the Allcare and Life pharmacy brands.

Uniphar plans to publish its final results for 2019 on 27 March.
