Boots Ireland secured the Outstanding Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility Award at Chambers Ireland's CSR Awards for 2019.
Chambers Ireland said that Boots showed commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility in its company values and consistently meet key judging criteria across all aspects of CSR.
Ian Talbot, CEO of Chambers Ireland, said the awards reveal how the benchmark of quality among projects implemented by businesses across Ireland continues to be driven upwards.
"The programmes and activities developed by businesses of all sizes continues to evolve every year and have become ever more proactive at addressing current sustainability challenges," Mr Talbot said.
Other winners at the awards - presented last night - included the European Recycling Platform Ireland for their project "Batteries for Barretstown", while Gala Retail won for their sponsorship of Special Olympics Ireland.
Hotel Doolin was the winner for the Excellence in Environment award for a large indigenous company for their project Green Team Work, while Astellas Ireland won the Environment award for a large multinational company.
KPMG bagged the Excellence in Community - Volunteering award for their Bold Girls initiative and Intel Ireland won the their project Intel Involved Volunteers Making a Difference.
Other winners last night included energy company SSE Airtricity, Tesco Ireland, solicitors Arthur Cox, VMware International, A&L Goodbody, Dublin Bus and Easytrip.
