Bank of Ireland and AIB have fixed a problem with their credit card systems, that impacted customers who were trying to check their balances online.
It is understood that the issue was with a third party system used by a number of banks.

In a statement earlier, Bank of Ireland said it was aware of the problem with its 'Card Care' system.
The bank said there was no issue with credit card processing so the issue did not affect transactions. The problem has since been resolved.
