The chief executive of the Personal Injuries Assessment Board is to leave the body later this year.

Conor O'Brien, who has been CEO since 2015, is to take up a role as European Chief Operating Officer at Link Asset Services.

PIAB chairman Dermot Divilly has said the recruitment process to replace Mr O'Brien will start immediately.

In a statement, he thanked Mr O'Brien for his work over the past four years.

Mr O'Brien is due to take up his new role at the end of October, with Mr Divilly in line to oversee the management of the independent State body, which assesses personal injuries compensation, for any interim period until the arrival of the new CEO.
