Independent News and Media has said a High Court date to sanction its proposed sale to Belgian-Dutch group Mediahuis has been set for July 30.
This follows shareholder approval at the company's EGM last month to back the €145.6m deal.
INM said the deal still remains conditional on the required regulatory approval from the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has already given the green light to the takeover.
Speaking at last month's EGM, the INM chairman told shareholders that the board has every faith in the plans for the company that are being put forward by Mediahuis.
Murdoch MacLennan said the Dutch-Belgian group has the experience, expertise and skills to drive the business forward faster, at a time of rapid change in the media industry.
