Fyffes supports new environmental regulations

Irish fruit importer, Fyffes has said its supports new global regulations designed to limit sulphur content in marine fuels to 0.5%.

The regulations were established by the International Maritime Organisation and come into effect on January 1st next year.

It says it is 'active in supporting a number of programmes aimed at minimising the impact of its activities upon the environment, particularly in its source countries, and its collaborating with its supply partners in protecting the world's natural resources.
