Danish home retail brand, JYSK, is to open three more stores here this summer.

The new outlets will be in Drogheda, Navan and Portlaoise.

50 new jobs are to be created by the move across a range of full and part-time positions.

These include deputy store managers and sales assistants.

The company opened its first Irish store in Naas in April.

It said then that it would open 15 stores here over the next two years.

The firm has also opened a central office in Dublin.

Seen as a competitor to Ikea, the retailer was founded in Denmark in 1979 by Lars Larsen.

It currently has operations in 51 countries, with more than 2,700 stores employing 23,000 people.
