Software and consulting company First Derivatives said today its founder and chief executive Brian Conlon has been diagnosed with cancer.

But the company said Mr Conlon would remain in the role during ongoing weekly treatment, which includes chemotherapy.

First Derivatives, whose clients include JPMorgan, Lloyds Banking Group, Morgan Stanley and UBS, said its CEO's treatment was expected to last a number of months.

Its chairman Seamus Keating will provide additional executive and governance support, First Derivatives said.
